Each background has the same mixture of adjustment layers which helps me get a cohesive colour scheme throughout the film. I add these above the character layer and then put the rain in on top!
I create my own brushes and use this to give the background a more painted feel as I do the shadows and highlights.
Paint in all the painted elements
Linework in flash, then into Photoshop with textures.
